The Walking Dead franchise feeds on continuity. In comics and TV series, that is still the story of Riccio Grimes, 14 years after the first issue and seven years after the first episode. Creating characters in the world without perspective is what keeps fans together. They are not “walkers” nor is it the mystery of zombie apocalypse. There are a bunch of other franchisees with zombies, and TWD is no closer to explaining how a pandemic occurred than it was at the very beginning.

I think it’s important to note that Telltale’s The Walking Dead series after the third season almost does not have any continuity. For fans who are tense to follow what will happen to Clementine last season’s season, in the third season, so-called. New Frontier, there is nothing to add to their character. The main culprit for that is that Clementine is no longer the main character or even a play character in the third season.

Telltale will say that this is not true, but Clementine shares are reserved for flashbacks and I do not think they will last for more than 15 minutes. Beware, they do not last so long, after we have spent more than a dozen hours last season with this figure. Instead, in the foreground is a brand new character, Javier Garcia, whose way is interwoven with Clementines.

Javier is a well written character when placed in the context of his family. It is also the main theme of this season – the family first and foremost, responsibility for the race and heritage. Javier has an interesting background story based on his conflicting character, he has a fine development as a person and a situation that is “bura baruta”.

Behavioral model has a line that resembles Lee from the first season, although I think Lee’s story was far more interesting because you’ve achieved something with him whatever your game ended. With Javier I only achieved that his relationship to all the characters was distanced, cold and reserved, resulting in a totally empty end of the story.

I say the end of the story because Telltale after this adventure does not give any indication that Javier will be the protagonist of future games. This role is reserved for Clementine, but the question is whether it will ever be a character defined by the player, not Telltale. Namely, the New Frontier has seen drastic shrinking links with previous seasons and the decisions that players made in them. For example, although the second season could end in four different ways, Clementine’s story in the third season always begins and ends just as Telltale decided.

For this reason, Javier is set to be the main character because the story so releases the “weight” of various decisions from the previous season. And since Javier will not be the main character of the next season, Clementine’s story can be resumed regardless of the player’s decision in the New Frontier.

I mean, that’s what I’m quite expected to do and I do not look at it anymore as a minus – I know that Telltale records the games on the trailer and goes well. People know their job, I just believe you should really remove that introductory sentence – “The story adjusts to your decisions.” No one is smoking anymore, because it is simply not true.

If I have so far sniffed that the number of puzzles decreases with each subsequent episode – here the puzzles no longer exist, the dialogue works the same way as five years ago, you can do QTE sequences with nose, ears, elbow and small toe – ; So challenging. Facial animations are re-caricatured and act trivial, as if I were looking at clowns or stand-up comedians who were overwhelmed by fakes while reacting to what was happening.

And now, what will most annoy fans. The New Frontier has been satisfied faster than the previous season – within half a year. However, there is a reason for this, and it is seen in short duration. While 12 or more hours would pass for the previous season, you can comfortably finish it for seven hours, counting for a lunch break.

The episodes are twice as shorter, as they are modeled on the TWD mini-series: Michonne, but unlike this game they sell at an even price (25 euros) as well as two more seasonal seasons. While this season they moved the boundaries and brought interactivity as the strip and the series can not deliver, A New Frontier just taps in place and simply does not lead anywhere.
