A decade ago, when I enrolled in fifth grade, at my school was selling computer magazine Enter. For kids my age, or at least those with whom I hung out, Enter was a great discovery. CD that came as part of the magazine contained a variety of programs, which we then attach little or no attention; and games, free games. One of the games that I particularly remembered is a beat ’em up title which I unfortunately forgot the name, and that can not be found in a variety of…

Original Mirror’s Edge was one of new era of Electronic Arts in which the company has expanded its catalog of games then fresh series such as Mass Effect, Dead Space and Dragon Age. Unfortunately for those who enjoyed the first person parkour, Mirror’s Edge has achieved a weak financial result is in contrast to the above series to its continuation waited for eight years. One can assume that EA and DICE were looking for the best way for such a game to get closer to a wider range of…

After several years spent in the competitive MMO titles that simply were not able to love one reason or another, by the return of the “king” I was surprised how much more it becomes apparent that the WoW product of the last decade. I am not referring specifically to graphics and aesthetics that I actually still like for bright colors and charming tone, but mainly on prehistoric, but also crucial physics struggle which forms the basis of gameplay. Gameplay that you are expected to spend hundreds, if not thousands…

Personally I’m not a fan of indie game Limbo. I appreciate what it sought to achieve, but I do not recognize it as something more than just an experiment. First of all, I never really liked the separation of what is at stake and the description of what the story should be. So, the game nowhere suggested that the main character has a sister and that his goal is to find them. This story does not exist outside the description of the game that is there only out of…

I think that many gamers, just like us here on gameguin.com, had a good part of growing up marked with a 3D platformer, so I was sad to see how the genre started to slowly decay. Except only recently issued the reboot of Ratchet & Clank, such platformer remains mostly forgotten part of history while the remaining few of his adolescent transformation ignores the basic charm of collecting random things in favor of stretched and illogical story subtracting the constant control of all sorts of cute animals. Well, little robot BUD from…

If there’s anything I remember from younger days, it is that Dado Pršo in the PES was called Pkro and played frantically “Worms” and “Grand theft auto.” Since then Pkro retired and “GTA” has become one of the best-selling games ever, and Worms are still Worms. I will not say that my former buddies are some kind of critics, but it is interesting that then Worms were almost constantly a major game in the street, and the first and second GTA were clean games that you play when you don’t…

When it comes to planning and tactics, Total War and Warhammer as if they were created to merge into a single unit as both franchises have a very strong strategic roots. Thanks to Sega, the merger had taken place with the result that both worlds get breath of fresh air on a virtual strategic field, and because of the development studio with an impressive portfolio, the result is more than satisfactory. Since the first announcement of Total War: Warhammer, it was clear what it would be the basis of…

Point and click adventures are not what they used to be. Chances are that some of our readers today do not know it, but in the early nineties this genre was one of the most popular in the world of video games. Lucas Arts and Sierra Games through these ten years have ruled the gaming scene similar to today ruled by Activision and Electronic Arts, except that people actually like them. As the years pass by, technically impressive genres have overcome adventures with a transition into the new millennium…

FIFA and PES are like you and your neighbor with whom you grew up. When you do something wrong, then your mother freaks out because John is a nice guy, but when John threw a firecracker in the mailbox, then your mother suddenly is not interested in your neighbor’s kids, just in you. I openly called FIFA 16 the worst Fifa so far and still stand by that. Significant was the time when I first played the PES 2017 and thought that Fifa actually was not that bad. I’ll be…

Five years ago it seemed to me that the gap between FIFA 12 and PES in the opposite direction is comparable to that gap of ten years ago when the PES 6 trampled everything in their path. In those years, no one would think that this football simulation to go into decline. In Fife, this was expressed by speeding up the game so I’m still in a review of FIFA 13 said that I fear that it does not return the series arcade roots. Each subsequent release of EA…
