The horror scene of the asymmetric multiplayer was popularized last year by Dead By Daylight, and it seems we can expect a few more similar games soon. The first candidate for us is Friday the 13: The Game, which is trying a very similar thing, but with a few important differences and the essence of the movie classic. People who watched at least one of thousands of “Friday Night 13” apples know that Jason Voorhees is an unstoppable machine that can not be solved. On this matter, Friday the 13th: The Game faithfully presents the killer you need to be afraid of, because when you find it you can only hope that you will separate your head from the door in the most spectacular way.

Apart from this method of solving the tired teen, Jason also has several incredibly powerful abilities that define the overall gaming experience in his role. The “man” with the mask here can play teleported over the entire map of the game, so even the infrared nose tears the fear of the pancreas. Still, Jason is only one, while boys and girls running alive for seven lives.

As Jason persecutes them, they must struggle to survive in a number of ways, either to fit one of the two cars, find gasoline and propeller, or even call the police to jump to the scene. The performance of this is that the team in panic skips across the huts by scouting trays, while doing so smartly arrange to have any chances. Unless the role of Jason ends in the hands of a beginner struggling with awkward controls, you can then take a minute or ten to enjoy the moonlight.

This is where we come to one of the most important elements of this experience – voice communication. Players in the immediate vicinity can be heard over the microphone, but if you find the “walkie-talkies” in the huts, you can coordinate each other through the entire map of the game. Unfortunately, this whole system falls into the water when you come across players who play without a microphone, or people who are constantly hanging in their native language instead of universal English.

Two of the most probably transmitted elements of the movies are atmosphere and music, along with old-fashioned VHS effects. However, they completely flush you out when the Russians start chattering stupidly, mocking Jason’s sins and other characters because they are robotically badly animated, all this while you’re trying to hide it honestly. As with every other online game, all her experience will depend on what team you are playing, and the god knows that there are some strange things on the internet.

But even with the excellent atmosphere and all the interesting mechanics, somehow it turns out to survive as a kid and is not an overly fun getaway. Not just for clumsy controls, but also for the nasty little survival opportunity you take away as soon as Jason once saw you. He knows exactly where the hut is hiding and once he starts chasing your character for a couple of seconds of fatigue and then runs like a baby who comes back with pots of ten kilo potatoes.

With only three maps that for some reason are all the same and the promise that single player could see at some point later this year, I hardly imagine that with the “pay immediately, get later” method somebody here smacks players because this is not Early Access title. Anyway, I would liar if he said I was not frightened as I was in the closet listening to Jason dropping the bones of a colleague who was hiding under the bed. I’m not quite as sure as it is, because such moments from my two-hour hours spent in the woods could be listed on the fingers of one hand.

Friday the 13th: The Game is one of the titles I only recommend for a little bit of fun with friends over the weekend. Of course, this is only if you have a team of eight people who like this franchise, they have enough powerful machines, they tend to see through the various imperfections of a somewhat shallow semi-product, and of course if the servers are not back. I do not know about you, but personally I think that is what is required for the requested amount too much to accept.
